Artis L. Godette, 76, of Pueblo, Colo., a native of Beaufort, N.C., rested peacefully Sunday, Dec. 16, 2018, at Hospice House. Preceded in death by his wife, Denise Godette; and sisters, Claudette Potter and Doris McFadden. He leaves to cherish his memories, his children, Thierry, Patrick (Kay), Mark (Tammy) Godette; sister, Audrey L. Addo; brothers, Gerald (Lynn), Ronald (Linda), Castillo (Tonya) and Mark (Regina) Godette; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and by other relatives and friends. He retired from the Army with 23 years of service and also worked and retired from the United States Post Office. Memorial service, 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 2, in the Montgomery & Steward Chapel.   4. I was very sorry to hear of Artis’ passing. I worked with him for many years at the Post Office. He was a good man of character who always acknowledged me with a smile. I can still hear his laughter when he found something amusing! My condolences to the family and friends. May he rest in peace.
