Charles V Martellaro, 91, passed away Dec. 11, 2018. Survived by his wife, Jennie Martellaro; children, Diane Stohner and Charlene Martellaro; grandchildren, Shannon Martellaro, Amber (Jason) Skiera and Weston Martellaro; sister-in- law, Lillian Martelaro; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Preceded in death by his father, Sylvester Martellaro; mother, Bernice Martellaro; brother, Sam Martellaro; sisters, Mary Ann Shedron, Virginia Spoone and Rose Marie Wangerin. Charlie was born Oct. 16, 1927, in Pueblo, Colo. He served in the US Army Air Corps during WWII and was an American Legion member. Charlie was employed at CFI as a mechanic and retired after 30 years of employment. Charlie enjoyed fishing, hunting, swimming, cooking and gardening. Charlie loved sharing the story about catching a Hugh six point Elk Royal and receiving a trophy. He loved spending time with his family and friends, he cherished the memories of the family reunions held in Arizona. Charlie enjoyed tinkering around in the garage on cars and tractors, anything he was able to get his hands on. Charlie's great sense of humor, warm smile and big heart will sure be missed. Scripture service, 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2018, in the Montgomery & Steward Chapel, concluding with military honors by the Colorado National Guard Honor Guard. The Martellaro family thanks Dr. James Stjernholm, University Park Care Center, Parkview Hospital and Sangre de Cristo Hospice staff for the care they gave Charlie.
