Darwin E. McCurry, 85, passed away on Nov. 7, 2017. Survived by his wife of 65 years, Dolores McCurry; children, Doug (Roxann) of Pueblo and Cindy (Marty) Shafer of Colorado Springs; grandchildren, Jodi (James) Mihelich, Kati (Shane) Clark, Ali (Chris) Kintz, and Amanda (Mike Stout) Shafer; great-grandchildren, Haylee and Garrett Clark and Brayden and Paxton Kintz; and brother, Robert (Bonnie) McCurry of Bennett, Colo. Preceded in death by his parents; brother, Daryel McCurry; and granddaughter, Gina McCurry. Darwin was born to Frank and Kathryn McCurry on Dec. 30, 1931, in Pueblo. He was a lifetime St. Charles Mesa resident and served in the Navy from 1950 to 1954 during the Korean War. Darwin was owner of Arkansas Valley Electric, sold Porta Stalls and Butler Buildings, was President, Business Manager and lifetime member of IBEW Local 12 and proud supporter of the Democratic Party. Funeral Service, 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 11, 2017, in the Montgomery & Steward Chapel. Interment, Mountain View Cemetery. In lieu of food and flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude or Shriner's Crippled Children's Hospital through Montgomery & Steward Funeral Directors, 1317 N. Main St., Pueblo, CO 81003. He was not one to mix words so you always knew where he stood. Darwin’s courage with his illness is a lesson for us all. God was he lucky to have you you are incredible.
