Kathleen Selters Monson

Kathleen Selters Monson, 92, passed away Friday, September 29, 2017, in Waxahachie, Texas. Kathleen was born on February 25, 1925, in Monte Vista, Colo. to Robert and Myrtle (Porter) Selters. She married John William Monson and together they had two sons. Kathleen was a teacher for over 28 years and taught elementary for the Florence School District. She attended the Colorado Women's College and the University of Colorado where she received her Bachelor's degree in teaching. Kathleen was a member of ADK Organization for Women Educators. She was a 72 year member of P.E.O. She enjoyed sewing and quilting in her pastime. She is survived by her children, Bruce and his wife, Kelly, of Waxahachie, Texas and Eric Monson of Houston, Texas; sisters, Marjorie Logan of Pueblo, Colo. and Barbara Wood of Fort Collins, Colo.; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband. Graveside services, 1 p.m. Tuesday, October 10, 2017, at Mountain View Cemetery, in Pueblo, Colo.
