Lyle E. Hansen, 83, passed away on October 14, 2015. Survived by wife, Louise; children, Josephine Donley, Barbara Ferrero and Erik (Rosanna) Hansen; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nephews and nieces. Preceded in death by parents, Leon and Hazel Hansen; siblings, Kenneth, Vernon, Dale Hansen and Ione Russo. Lyle was born on Sept. 12, 1932, in the Township of Breed, Wisc. He served with the 45th Infantry Division during the Korean War and retired in 1983 from the CF&I Controllers Dept. after 33 years of service. Lyle enjoyed bowling, golfing, gambling at Cripple Creek and bingo. Member of Florence Elks #611 and lifetime member of the Eagles #145. Cremation, Montgomery & Steward Crematorium. Memorial service, 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 19, 2015, in the Montgomery & Steward Chapel. Memorials may be made direct to a charity of your choice. Online condolences, www.montgomerysteward.com

My dear Grandpa Lyle – I will miss you much. You were a great man. For my dear Grandma Louise – I know I said “it’s going to be ok” in a feeble way to comfort you, since I have no words. But maybe I just meant to say “Grief is in two parts. The first is loss. The second is the remaking of life.” It will never ever be “ok” that he is gone, but you will go on, for now, until you meet again. My dear Mother, Barbara, you are strong. I am so sorry for what you had to see and go through in his final months, weeks, days, hours. You are always there doing everything for your mother and father and sister – and kids and grandkids! You deserve respect, love and admiration – and you have that from me and so many. Don’t ever doubt that. Know it. Chad you too. I am glad you are there always helping Mom and our family. Finally, to all of my family, I hope that we can love each other more and treat each other with respect and kindness as we see how short life is and how fast it goes by. Peace.
