Yvonne Mae Silva, 93, passed away on Friday, October 17, 2025. Survived by her beloved husband of 74 years, Ralph J. Silva; son, Ralph J. Silva, Jr.; daughters, Victoria M. Silva and Christina R. (Kevin) McGrath; grandchildren, Dallas Uhrich, Brandon Silva, Eric Bonitz (Erin Duran), Lori (Mike) Middleton, and Leah (Jared) Weiss; and six great grandchildren.
Preceded in death by daughters, Stephanie L. Silva and Julie A Kasson.
Yvonne was born to Everett and Dorothy Colburn on January 21, 1932, in Cambridge, Minnesota. As a young woman, Yvonne worked retail at the W.T. Grant Department Store in St. Paul, Minnesota, a job she greatly enjoyed and spoke of often. When she married Ralph, she became an Air Force wife, and they had five children, often caring for them as a solo parent while Ralph was assigned various tours of duty. Over the years they lived in Minnesota, Alaska, Germany, Wisconsin, and Colorado, which made for a rich and interesting life. As their children got older, Yvonne pursued work in antiques and collectibles, an occupation she was good at and had fun with. Among her most enjoyable life experiences were the places she traveled with Ralph, and the many family gatherings with their kids and grandkids. She loved those little ones! We have so many pictures of her holding babies or sitting on the floor playing with toddlers.
The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the staff members of Primrose Retirement Community and Abode Hospice for their exceptional kindness and care of Yvonne and the support extended to her family.
