  1. CandleImageHello, sister. It’s been over three months since you left us on July 31, 2024, Karen, and I still miss you so very much. I loved your witty sense of humor, your keen intelligence, and your passion for your family….just a few of the many things I loved about you. You spent so many creative hours with your stitchery projects over the years, and Jill found that you had started quilts for her and me, and Karla, and so many others that you didn’t have time to complete. I promise I’ll find someone who can finish the quilt you started, but you were so meticulous with your work that I must search carefully. I know that you worked on many projects for your grandchildren, and it’s wonderful that they’ll have tangible memories of you.
I hope you have all the kitties you ever loved, and Winston, by your side.
    Love you —-

  2. From the first time we met when Karen rode her bike past our home in 1982 and she demanded to know who I was to our last text about green Volvo stations wagons on July 22, 2024, she has been a part of my life. We did room mother work, Cub Scouts, Odyssey of the Mind, sewing projects, to being grandmothers . ( I’ll never forget the 6 ft Cabbage Patch costume she made for Rick.). Karen was the most amazingly creative woman I will ever know. I can see her directing St Peter on building balsa wood structures!!! I will miss her.

  3. CandleImageKaren’s family home backed to my parent’s backyard in Avondale. Karen was my classmate from 1st grade through high school graduation, we were enrolled in many of the same classes, so we got to know each other well.
Karen a very intelligent young lady had a warm personality, which made it easy to talk to her. I’ll always remember her smile & giggles.
    May she rest in peace.
