With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved boy, Joshua Edmund Provenza, who left this world far too soon at the age of 20. Born with a big heart and an even greater capacity for love, Joshua lived his life with purpose, kindness, and a dedication to helping others. Joshua accomplished more in his short life than most in a lifetime, leaving behind a legacy of service, passion, and love. He always had faith in God and his Country, which guided him in his journey and the way he treated others.
Joshua graduated from Swallows Charter Academy in 2023, proudly earning his diploma while also accomplishing EMT-certified training at graduation. His passion for service led him to complete firefighter training with the Front Range Fire Consortium, where he excelled, earning a position with the Boulder Fire Department as their youngest recruit. Joshua was honored to serve and dedicated himself to protecting and helping others in his community.
His devotion to service extended beyond his career. He was a proud member of the Pueblo County Patriots and volunteered with various county offices and organizations, including the Pueblo County Sheriff’s Fire Department. His commitment to making a difference, whether through service or simple acts of kindness, touched countless lives and left a lasting impact on those around him.
Beyond his service, Joshua embraced life with enthusiasm. He loved golf, bowling, cooking, hunting and archery, always finding joy in the outdoors. He adored spending time with his dad, Papa, and Uncle Joe on their annual hunting trips. He had a huge passion for working on, driving with a need for speed, and collecting cars. He truly cherished every moment shared with those he loved. He also had a deep fondness for Florida, drawn to its beauty and the memories he made there. A devoted fan of the Colorado Rockies, Joshua rarely missed a game, cheering on his team with loyalty.
Above all, Joshua loved his family. He is survived by his father, Joshua Provenza (Christine), his mother, Amanda Provenza, and his beloved sister, Addison Provenza, with whom he shared a deep and special bond. Their connection was one of unwavering love, support, and friendship. They were each others #1 in every aspect.
He also leaves behind his grandparents, “Papa” Joe & “Hama” Jessie Provenza, “G” Sherry Field, and Neil & Karla Martwick; his great-grandparents, Dave & Alvina Martwick; his loving aunts and uncles, Rebecca & John Boggs, Joe & Sandy Provenza, Lisa (Stacy) Provenza, Sam (Brett) Provenza, Abigail (Marissa) Martwick, and Adrienne (Shane) Trattles; and his cherished cousins, Ashley (Connor) Cash, Cassadie (Grace, Zoey, Faith) Higginbotham, Carlie (Keilani) Bezona-Richards, Matthew Boggs, Luke Boggs, Ryan Bezona, Joe Provenza, Alexia Provenza, and Brayden & Maddie Trattles.
Joshua was preceded in death by his grandfather, William (Eddie) Field; and his great-grandparents, Joseph S Provenza, Ace & Dorothy Aguirre, Clifford & Ruth Smith and Uncle Jeff Martwick.
He is also survived by extended family and dear friends, including very special and best friends, Tyler Rigdon, Anthony Vega, and Nathan Jones whose lives he touched with his kindness, loyalty, and unfaltering friendship.
Though our hearts are broken, we take comfort in knowing that Joshua’s kindness and love will never fade. His faith in God, and the good he brought into the world, will remain a testament to the incredible person he was.
Never to be forgotten, always in our hearts, Godspeed!!
