John “Johnny” Philip Morrone, 67, passed away unexpectedly on July 17, 2026. He was born in Pueblo, Colo. on Nov. 23, 1958 to the union of Beverly Patton and John S. Morrone.

Preceded in death by his father, John S. Morrone; grandparents, Divina and Carmen Morrone and Annabelle and Victor Patton; Uncle, George Morrone; and beloved Uncle and Aunt, Ken and Norma Jean Walter.

Johnny is survived by his mother, Beverly Silengo; siblings, Valerie (Larry) Strubel and Perry (Jean) Morrone; nieces, Chelsea (Nick) Mastin, Courtney (Wyatt) Zelenka and Courtney Roan; special cousin, Kevin (Devona) Walter; Godfather to Ryan Walter; Uncle to Kenneth and Divina Walter; special cousins, GeorgiaAnn (Dave) Anderson and George (Debbie) Morrone; and numerous family and friends.

Johnny was employed at the Colorado Mental Health Institute in Pueblo. He earned his Master’s Degree in Counseling and was also a Certified Addiction Counselor. He had a reputation of being kind and genuine when working with the mental health population. He was so proud to earn his degrees and eager to serve those struggling with mental health and addiction issues.

Johnny loved playing chess, Christmas time, and listening to Frank Sinatra music. He enjoyed going to see scary movies with Kenny, attended ALL of Ryan’s and Kenny’s performances, and loved going to Starbucks for a cold brew and to visit Divina.

  3. I am so sorry for the family’s loss. I did not know Johnny but I knew his grandparents, Annabelle and Victor Patton. They were the sweetest people. My mom and dad Ann and Martin Schweers square danced with them and they were just the best. God bless all of you and may God bring you comfort.

  8. CandleImageSo sorry to hear of John’s passing. Living in Belmont and growing up, I always helped the family with Christmas 🎄 trees in winter and fireworks 🎆 in summer. Delivery of Produce was always fun as well. John will truly be missed by all who knew him 😢. R.I.P. my friend, please say hello to your Father in heaven for me when you get there..🙏

You were one-of-kind and always made me laugh when you’d get worked up over something silly. I hope you changed your mind and decided to drink out of those coffee cups you said you were going to put up on your display shelf, my fellow scary movie buddy. Since I’ll be out of town for your service, I’m going to have a viewing of Halloween III, in your honor. And we’ll always have our shared love for The Exorcist.

    My wish was always for you to enjoy your retirement, even though you always told me you wouldn’t. I guess you skipped to the good part. I hope you’re rejoicing with all of your beloveds. Cheers!

CandleImageJohnny wasn’t only a great coworker of mine, he was an amazing friend, he was a kind and thoughtful person, and everyone who met him would agree, I didn’t mind when he would talk to me about Frank Sinatra’s music and he never complained when I would always speak of the Love I have for Madonna 😆 I know I will miss him, but his memory will always be with me..
