JoAnn Kincaide, age 97, passed away at the Crowley County Nursing Center on September 21, 2024.  JoAnn was born in Alamosa, Colorado, to Carl G. Duncan and Ruth Dale McMickell on September 2, 1927. Her parents were teachers and school administrators who moved from Alamosa to Cortez to Oak Creek and finally Avondale, Colorado, where JoAnn graduated from high school in 1945. She attended Pueblo Junior College, Tarkio College, Missouri, and Colorado State Teachers College in Greeley.

She was united in marriage with W.R. (Bud) Kincaide on June 16, 1948. They lived and worked on the Sanford, then Kincaide farm in Pueblo County south of Vineland until 1984. They moved to Monte Vista, CO, where Bud owned a potato hauling business until 1996. In 1998 they moved to Longview, Texas and resided there until 2012, when they moved to Colorado Springs and resided with Marilee Kincaide. Bud Kincaide passed away in May 2013. In 2018, JoAnn moved to Rocky Ford and resided at Cottonwood Ridge Assisted Living until being transferred to Crowley County Nursing Center in November 2021.

JoAnn was active in the Vineland Methodist Church, Monte Vista Methodist Church and Hope Fellowship Church in Longview, Texas. JoAnn worked on the farm and for a few years at the District 70 School Administration in Pueblo County. JoAnn was organist at the Vineland Methodist Church and was active with the Vineland Methodist Church Concession at the Colorado State Fair. She was known as Grammy by her grandchildren and Josie by friends and family.

JoAnn is survived by a brother, Earl Duncan of Loveland; sons, Kenneth W. Kincaide (Jane) of Delta, CO, and Norman L. Kincaide of Rocky Ford, CO; daughters, Celeste Laufert (Craig) of Parker, CO and Marilee Kincaide of Colorado Springs and son, Craig M. Kincaide of Windsor, CO; grandchildren: Matthew Kincaide (Mollie); great-grandchildren, Kyle and J.D. Kincaide of Delta, CO, Major Heather R. Kincaide (Sam), Colorado Springs, CO, Abraham Kincaide (Jessica), Hotchkiss, CO, Christopher Laufert (Tara), Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, Cortney Borgan (Joel), Tijeras, NM; great-grandchildren, Sumner and Adelaide Borgan and Charles C. Laufert, Longmont, CO.

JoAnn was predeceased by her parents, Carl & Ruth Duncan; sister, Lois Lee Collins; and brother, Carl M. Duncan. No services. Celebration of Life at a later date.
