Charles “Charlie” William Brooks, 61, passed away on Aug. 14, 2026. He is survived by his aunts, Mary Williams (Charlie’s godmother), Rose (David) Arguello, Beverly (Bob) Courney; cousins, Dianne Anderson, Debbie Anderson, Desi Anderson, Julie (Mark) Pritchard, George J. Williams, Cindy (Jim) Ricker, Barbara (Chris) Fonseca, Steve (JoEllen) Lafler, Sally (Richard) Owens, Lisa (Antonio) Cordova, Travis (Madison) Arguello; as well as numerous second and third cousins.
Preceded in death by his parents; uncles, John Lafler and George F. Williams, Jr.; and cousins, Jack “Jon” Stanley and Grant Ahrendt.
Charlie was born to Frances and William “Bill” Brooks on Aug. 20, 1964, in Pueblo, Colo. He co-owned the Oxford Bar and Grill for 8 years with his dad.
Charlie loved to garden and made it a point to go to Sturgis every year.

Auntie Beverly and I remember babysitting you when you were 2,3 and 4 yrs old. You would only eat mashed potatoes with tomato soup over the top…that is on your head. You sure had fun eating! As you grew, you accomplished alot. Our family members became worried when you somehow vanished, not knowing where you were. I regret not being able to visit you. With Jon’s passing and now yours, it left holes in our family’s hearts. Please find your mom, dad, Jon, and all family members in heaven. RIP. With my love, you will be missed and thought of daily. I just can’t believe you are gone. I loved visiting with you and just sitting on your porch talking about life; sometimes about nothing. I remember playing Uno with you, George, and Jon when we were younger. Now both you and Jon are gone within just a few months of each other. You are no longer suffering and have been reunited with your mom and dad. Give Aunt Frances and Uncle Bill a big hug from me! And all of our family that is there. I will miss you forever.

I remember how excited I was when you were born on my 11th Birthday. We had some great birthdays together. We never forgot to tell each one a Happy Birthday. Happy early Birthday Nephew. Sorry I didn’t visit you the last couple of years but I had no idea where you were Love and Miss you. Auntie Bev
