Betty Jean Williamson, 80, passed away January 25, 2026, in Pueblo, Colorado. She is survived by her son, Brett J. Williamson; granddaughter, Bailey A. Williamson; niece/sister, Kathy Johnson; and great nephew, Max Markowitz.
Preceded in death by her beloved husband, Elston “El” Norden; four siblings, Caroleen Blackmon, Melver Blackmon, James E. Parker, sister/mom, Myrtis Johnson; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and numerous other loved ones.
Betty Jean was born on March 30, 1945, in Smithfield, North Carolina. With a work ethic defined by grit and grace, Jeanie spent decades serving her community, beginning in humble roles and steadily working her way through various career milestones. Her journey of service culminated in a distinguished position as a Judicial Assistant for the State of Florida. Her excellence and dedication to the legal system were officially recognized in 1986 when she was honored with the Florida Bon Liberty Bell Award. This prestigious award celebrated her unwavering commitment to the law, her integrity within the court system and her devotion to the citizens of Florida.
She enjoyed collecting artwork, spending time with her granddaughter, spoiling her pups, running her toes through the sand, curling up with a good book, laughing and socializing with her countless friends and family and remodeling and changing her home to suit her needs and wants.
Her memberships included, Little Eagles, Elks, Beta Sigma Phi of IOTA Upsilon Chapter in Ft. Walton Beach, Florida, Women’s Auxiliary Club and she was a proud 1963 graduate of Centennial High School in Pueblo, Colorado.
