Adam Nickolas Gross, 47, died January 19, 2026. Preceded in death by his parents
Jimmy and Susan (Boyd) Gross; his paternal grandparents Ed and Maxine Gross, his maternal
grandfather George Boyd, and his uncles “Fast” Eddie Gross and Cory Boyd. Adam is survived
by his sisters Lisa Gross (Texas) and Sara (Zac) Stevenson (New Mexico); and his grandmother
Eleanore Boyd. Adam is also survived by uncles and aunts – Helen (Gary) Vertrees, Jim (Cindy)
Boyd, Bill Boyd, Diane (Johnny Ray) Hochevar, Brian (Connie) Boyd, and Erin (Chuck) Shultz,
as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Adam was dearly loved by his nephews Joseph and Nathan (his Godson) Stevenson,
Jordan Gross, Robert Gould, and his nieces Brianna Mannon, Trinity Gross, Kashmere
Marshall, and Chloe Gould. Adam held a special place in his heart for his niece Lillyanna
Robinson.
Known for his devotion to family, his deep faith in God, and his serious love of golf,
Adam approached life with genuine kindness and warmth. Perhaps his greatest gift was his
desire to make others feel seen, valued, and truly important, a quality that left a lasting
impression on everyone who met him. His Grandmother Eleanore, with whom he spent nearly
every Sunday, said that his message to you, when you met him, was “You are making me so
happy!” His caring heart and joyful spirit will be profoundly missed, as will his sincere-from-the-
heart cheerful laugh.
Throughout his life, Adam acted with the “the heart of a servant.” When in middle school,
he was tremendously helpful to his mother while his dad was dealing with the effects of Multiple
Sclerosis. He extended that loving assistance to his Godparents Sharon and Gary “Hoss”
Thompson during the last months of Gary’s life. And Adam also provided great support and
comfort to his mother during the last years of her life. A few years ago, Adam joined the Knights
of Columbus at the Shrine of St. Therese and found yet another place where his servant’s heart
could offer his talents, his joy and his deep love for others.
Everyone in the family knew that Adam would do his best to help you with any difficulty
or task – always a servant – happy to assist family and friends with most electrical needs, a
sideline skill he developed. His uncle Billy said that Adam would not wait to be called to help out
at his Grandmother’s house, but that he would call and ask if there was something that he could
do to make things safer and better for Grandma. Billy and Adam accomplished much at her
house and exchanged knowledge along the way.

Golf was an important part of Adam’s life, and he was quite skilled. After high school, he
was accepted into a golf school in South Carolina. After graduating, he worked at Sea Pines on
Hilton Head Island for a number of years. His uncle Jim recalls that once when they were
playing, Adam hit a drive that was so long, he couldn’t even see where the ball landed. Jim put
away his clubs and spent the 18 holes admiring Adam’s impressive skills. Many of Adam’s
nieces, nephews and cousins also benefited from Adam’s golf mentoring.
As he was growing up in Colorado Springs, Adam learned much about billiards from his
dad and his uncle “Fast” Eddie. During the last few years, living in Pueblo, he would often
connect with his cousins around various pool tables.
His sister, Sara, fondly remembers many summers as young children spent with their
paternal grandparents (Ed and Maxine) and cousins in Pueblo.
Lisa, Adam’s sister, recognized that Adam’s great desire to help others masked his own
suffering. But she is confident that Adam is now resting in the sweet arms of Jesus and being
comforted by his mom and dad.
Donations may be made in Adam’s name to either the Tim Tebow Foundation or the
Shrine of St. Therese or the Knights of Columbus Council # 12720 of which he was a member.
Please join our family at the Funeral Mass on Wednesday, February 4 at Shrine of St.
Therese, 10 a.m., 300 Goodnight Avenue, Pueblo. Interment will follow the Mass.
