Rudolph J. "Bud" Mikatich, 96, passed away Feb. 16, 2012, following a brief illness. Born in Pueblo, Aug. 21, 1915, to Nicholas and Frances Mikatich, Bud graduated from Central High School in 1933 and received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Denver. After serving in the United States Army, Bud was a partner with his brother, Bill, in Mikatich Sign Company. Preceded in death by wife, Verleen; and siblings, Nick, Joe "Muss," Helen and Bill Mikatich and Frances Kamby. Bud is survived by his daughter, Catherine "Carrie" Mikatich; grandsons, Andrew, Gary, and Philip Hartman; stepson, Craig (Carole) Buhlman; stepdaughter, Cristina (Terry) Roybal; step grandchildren, Tristan (Lindsay) and Larisa Roybal; sister, Katherine Kochevar; sister-in-law, Rose Mikatich; numerous nieces and nephews; special friend, Virginia Walker; and special caregiver, Nancy Wimber. Bud enjoyed his family, friends, golf, music, good conversation, and art. He was a lifelong member of KSKJ St. Joseph's Lodge. Bud was well loved by many and will be missed. A heartfelt thank you to the staff at Wynwood Assisted Living, Minnequa Medicenter, and Dr. Christopher Louie.
