Al retired from the CF&I steel mill in 1986. The Colorado State Fair was one of his favorite events he looked forward to, he always gathered his family up to head out for the annual Rock Rolling, the family for many years held the title of 1st, 2nd & 3rd place, he was known to save all of his losing lotto tickets to enter for a chance to win a new car, he also enjoyed collecting all the free stuff at the state fair.
Family reunions and Huber cruises were something he looked forward to, he was an avid bowler and always had a tournament to be at he would say, he enjoyed watching Wheel of Fortune and loved the Broncos.
Al loved picking up his grandkids at school, and taking them to Kmart for Pretzel’s, cheese and Icee’s.
Every Friday for the last couple of years lunch was spent at Coors tavern eating his favorite, a slopper and having a scooner of his favorite beer with his son, daughters and friends.
Al will live on through the very many memories he made. Viewing, noon to 2 p.m. followed by service at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 17, Montgomery & Steward Chapel. Full notice and online condolences, www.MontgomerySteward.com.
